The 1851 census records show that Hannah is living with Elizabeth Ratcliffe aged 76. Also Thomas Ratcliffe aged 51. Hannah's age is stated as 20 which is a discrepancy from the 1841 Census Records. Thomas is her father. The only trouble being that in 1851 he is stated as an unmarried Agricultural Labourer and again in 1861 he is declared as an unmarried gardener.

The 1861 Census returns shows Elzabeth and Thomas then Joseph and Hannah Living next door to each other - number 21 and 22 on the schedule.
I do not know where the information below came from - and can not find any reference to it - but have left it here until I can sort it out. (ed).
On the 1841 census records there are only two persons named Ratcliff living in Norton in Hales. One was Elizabeth Ratcliff aged 65 who was a Grocer and not born in the County of Shropshire. Elizabeth may well be Hannah's grandmother as Hannah is the only other Ratcliff mentioned in the records she is aged 17 and working in another household as a servant, she is stated as born in County. (Shropshire).
