Thomas was the son of Thomas and Ann Brindley, Thomas was born in Audley in 1803 he married Jane Daniels and they went on to have seven children, four boys and three girls.

As can be seen by the census records Thomas and Jane never moved far from Audley, Wainbrook, Winbrook and Win Brook are very probably the same place and that was what is now all called Wereton, and is now all encompassed by Audley. It can also be noted that by 1871 Jane had died and Samuel and his family had moved in with his father and on that census he is stated as a lodger.
